This image displays the Supreme Court with two sayings outside engraved on the statues. Money is speech and corporations are people. The supreme court ruled that money is your speech and basically cooperation’s can give and endorse their candidate of choice by providing them with as much money as they want because it’s their right under the 1^st amendment, freedom of speech and that money is their speech in this situation. The idea may seem ludicrous to people that do not have money or large amounts of money to give to their candidate because who is to say someone with more money has a greater level of speech. If everyone is equal than why is it okay for someone to say more or have more of a say based on the amount of money they have. The idea that corporations are people may seem odd as well because corporations will never be representative of an individual, rather they will represent the best interest of their profits and what will be best or who will be best for their company to succeed.
